Have you read the advertisement that says that it is your watch that tells the most about you? The reasoning is that a watch is a statement of your personal choice, budget and sense of style. But really, can we tell much more than a person’s spending power by looking at their watch?
Your shoes, however, have the power to tell a whole lot more about you. Think about:
All of these things tell us a great deal about the person who wears the shoes. Even little details about the wear on the sole can tell us if the person drags their feet or walks with a spring. How much more can we learn from the way that someone looks after their shoes or takes the effort to match a particular pair with an activity or the rest of their clothes.
If we watch people’s shoes we can gain interesting and reliable insights into the person’s character before we even talk with them. I am sure that you will agree that this is valuable in being able to connect with others. So maybe we should all practice the science of shoe watching and see what we can learn.
Have a go this week and lets see which we discover are reliable indicators and which are not.
Thanks
Tom
